The „Favoloso – Aperitivo Milano“ is an Italian Bar/Café/Lounge located in the listed monument of Schumacher-Kontor and next to Hamburg State Opera. The idea was to to create a classic Aperitivo with wine and delicious canapés from the fashion capital thousand kilometres further north.
The architect Giorgio Gullotta in cooperation with Volker Hartmann from “Scala Wohnen” combined exclusive materials with furniture designs from the 50s to give the place a touch of luxury and let us explore the Italian way of life.
At two levels the “Favoloso” combines architecture, design, art and enjoyment from Italy. The ground floor is characterised by a two coloured marble pattern on the floor, furniture of dark walnut and polished brass and two opulent chandeliers. Arcades from the facade are repeated as huge arches to both sides of the hall. The imposing bar counter is as well made from marble, the rear buffet is finished with Antique mirrors.
A Central stairway leads to the upper lounge area that offers a fully mirrored fireplace with generous wing chairs in the middle. The cosy atmosphere is underlined by dining tables of dark glass, deep blue fabrics and lemon-coloured chairs to the sides.
