The east Design Hotel opened its doors in 2004 in an old iron foundry in St. Pauli in Hamburg. Organic shapes and a wide variety of different color accents, which can be seen in both the public areas as well as in the rooms and suites, characterize the original design by Jordan Mozer. Since 2019, the office of Giorgio Gullotta Architects has completed the conversion of the open-plan offices, the former sports and spa area as well as the club area into 43 hotel rooms. The conversion is divided into two construction phases. In the 1st construction phase, the first 14 "studio rooms" were created, which impress with their spaciousness. The second phase added a further 29 "loft rooms", which are located in a bridge structure with a post-and-beam façade. Visible steel structure, an exposed concrete ceiling and visible technical installations create the desired loft character with an unmistakable and unique atmosphere.
